Donald L. DeCrane, 89, of East Moline, passed away Saturday, August 4, 2018, at St. Anthony’s Nursing & Rehab, Rock Island.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, August 13, 2018 at St. Anne’s Church, East Moline. Visitation is Sunday from 2 – 5 p.m. at DeRoo Funeral Home, Moline, where a Rosary will be recited at 2 p.m. Burial is in Abingdon Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Peoria Affiliate Clinic – St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Donald was born June 20, 1929, in Kewanee, IL, the son of Alphonse and Ella (VanAltreve) DeCrane. He married Theresa E. Klauer on September 20, 1952 in Rock Island, IL. She preceded him in death on May 7, 2013.

He was employed at the former Illinois Power Company as a Lineman for 38 years, retiring in 1989. Donald was a member of the C.O.F Sacred Heart Court 1691, Experimental Aircraft Association Ch. 350, St. Anne’s Church, and former member of Sacred Heart Church, Abingdon, IL.

Survivors include his daughter Christine (Greg) Miecznikowski, Chesterton, IN; sons Thomas (Irita) DeCrane and Daniel (Becky) DeCrane; 7 grandchildren; brothers David (Judy) DeCrane and Duane (Carla) DeCrane. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Theresa, daughter Linda, son Stephen, and brother Walter DeCrane.
