George Hardison

George L. Hardison, 68, of East Moline, passed away Monday, May 14, 2018 at the Genesis Medical Center – Illini Campus, Silvis, IL.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 18, 2018, at Christ the King Church, Moline. Visitation is Thursday from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at DeRoo Funeral Home, Moline, where a Rosary will be recited at 3:30 p.m. Additional visitation is from 9:30 a.m. until mass time at church Friday. Burial is at St. Mary’s Cemetery, East Moline. Memorials may be made to the family for his grandchildren’s education fund.

George was born September 29, 1949, in Beverly, MA, the son of Charles & Rita (Jette) Hardison. He married Cheryl J. Foley on August 8, 1971 at at St. Michael’s Church, Avon, MA.

George was employed as Chief Operating Officer for the Army Corps of Engineers. He was very devoted to his work and loved spending time with his family. George was a member of the Knights of Columbus, a Eucharistic Minister, Uber Driver, Paramedic and Black Hawk College Police Officer.

He is survived by his wife, Cheryl; daughter, Courtenay Spencer; son and daughter-in-law, Scott (Erin) Hardison and grandchildren, Tyler, Samantha, Quinn and Leo.
