Urban Anderson, 87, of Moline, died Saturday, Sept. 10, 2005, at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis.
Services will be 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at DeRoo Funeral Home, Moline, and 1 p.m. at St. Anne Church, East Moline. Burial will be 9 a.m. Friday at National Cemetery, Rock Island, with military honors by American Legion Post 246, Moline. Those wishing to attend the burial should meet at the funeral home at 8:45 a.m.
Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with a rosary recited at 4 p.m. Memorials may be made to St. Anne Church or St. Mary's Church, Rock Island.
Andy was born in Mathervile, the son of William and Annie Anderson. He married Juanita Lopez in 1943 in Selma, Ala. He later married Mae Wynn in Moline in 1993. She preceded in death July 30, 2005.
He was a World War II Army veteran. He retired in 1974 after 38 years from the former International Harvester Farmall Works, Rock Island.
Andy spent many years attending garage sales and antiquing and had a great love for all of his friends at the farmers' market.
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, James and Kathy Anderson, Lafayette, La.; stepdaughter and stepson-in-law, Susan and Gerald Ketelaar, East Moline; stepson, Gregory Wynn, Moline; one granddaughter; sister, Anne Foster, Sun City, Ariz.; and brother, John Anderson, Horseshoe, Texas. Andy was preceded in death by his brother Vernon.
