Brenda Hodgson

"Brenda L Hodgson (Lord), age 64, resident of Rock Island passed away 7/11/23. 

Private family services will be held by the family. 

Brenda is survived by her two sons (John & Chad) three grandchildren (Elias, Xenius, & Roselyse) & lifelong friend Rick Exbom & family. She is predeceased by her husband Gary, her parents Jack & Alice, & her two brothers John & Terry. 

Brenda was born June 1,1959 in Ottumwa Iowa to Jack Lord & Alice Lord (Leedom.) She graduated from Davenport West Highschool & married Gary John Hodgson 12/1/79 after meeting at Dairy Queen where Brenda worked. They went on to birth two sons in 1981(John) & 1987 (Chad.) Brenda managed Hegg Drugstore in Rock Island, worked as a telemarrketer at Signature & GE company, ran her own daycare business & then went on to bartend in Silvis before retiring. 

Brenda was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, & mother. She loved shooting pool, bowling, crafts, sewing, the Chicago Cubs & Stevie Nicks. She was nurturing & was always acting as a second mother to all the neighborhood children. There was nothing that was out of her skill set. She made friends everywhere she went & had a great sense of humor. She always said that one of her happiest moments was becoming a grandmother & that her 3 grandchildren were her life's purpose.
