Charles Moore Obituary

 

Charles David Moore, 74 of Moline, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 27, 2020 at his residence surrounded by his family and love after a long battle with heart disease and cancer.

Private family visitation will be held at DeRoo Funeral Home, Moline. Burial and military honors will take place at the Rock Island Arsenal at a later date to be determined.

Charles was born April 5, 1945, in Morganfield, KY the son of James and Mary Louise (Askin) Moore. He married Victoria Volk on June 26, 1971 in Morganfield, KY [Description automatically generated] .

He was retired from the Rock Island Arsenal where he was a Machinist for many years and also a supervisor at John Deere Plow and Planter division for years prior to that. Charles proudly served his country in the Army during the Vietnam War.

He enjoyed spending his final days with his grandchildren,

family and friends, watching old westerns, and cooking and eating good food.

 He is survived by his wife, Victoria, son and daughter-in-law, Chuck (Angie) Moore, son Todd Moore, youngest son, Ryan Moore; grandchildren, Charli Rose and Samantha Moore and Hallie, Luke, and Noah Mahieu, sister, Betty Lou (Moore) Rudd, numerous nieces and nephews and his long-time friends Duane (Nanci) Volk and Bob Morales. He was preceded in death by his parents James Moore and Mary Louise, brothers Jim, Ed and Joe Carroll Moore, sister Mary Lloyd (Moore) Harrison and niece Pauletta (Harrison) Kiltzer.
