Dorothy A. “Dorps” Townsend, 95, of Moline died Monday, November 7, 2005 at her home in Bickford Cottage, Moline.
Services are 10a.m. Thursday, November 10 at DeRoo Funeral Home, Moline. Visitation will be 5-7p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Estates, Moline. Memorials may be made to the St. John’s Lutheran Church, Rock Island, where she was a member.
Dorothy was born on January 29, 1910 in Rock Island the daughter of Arthur and Alice Anderson Lincke. She married Paul Townsend in 1946 in Rock Island. He preceded her in death on December 27, 1989.
Mrs. Townsend retired as a supervisor from the former Desaulniers Printers, Moline on December 31, 1965 after 40 years. Dorothy enjoyed playing in her card club and traveling. She was a very independent and determined woman. Dorothy loved the company of her great-great nieces and nephews and her “Guardian Angel” and neighbor Diane.
