Gail Hoffman Arnold, 75, of Moline, passed away Friday, July 15, 2022, with family by her side. As per her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. DeRoo Funeral Home is assisting the family. A Celebration of Life will be held from 5:00 - 9:00 p.m. on Friday, August 19th, 2022, at the East End Bolders Club, 3712 4th Avenue, Moline, IL 61265. Gail was born February 5, 1947, in Moline, the daughter of Hubert Edgar and Erline Marie (Unterreiner) Hoffman. She graduated from Alleman High School and Blackhawk College.
Some of Gail’s fondest memories include growing up with her siblings on the wooded property of her childhood home, visiting with extended family on trips to Missouri, shopping trips with her sisters, riding horses with her children and dear friends at Cedar Valley Stables, planting flowers every spring, learning to golf with Steve, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Gail was married to John Arnold with whom she shared three children. They later divorced. She then reconnected with Stephen Patterson, a friend from her past. They have now shared 30 years together as loving partners.
Gail worked as a skilled accountant at several local businesses including First Congregational Church, Moline, WG Block, Davenport, Gierke-Robinson Co., Davenport, and Adamson Accounting and Tax Services in Moline.
Those left to honor her include Stephen Patterson, her daughters, Angela (David) Litterst, Amy (Chris) DeKnikker and son, Jay Arnold; Stephen’s children, Misha (Michael) Carlson, and Tyler (Karen) Patterson; grandchildren Erin (Dillon) DeKeyrel, Cole Litterst, Henry DeKnikker, Miranda Elk, Garrett Carlson, Grace and Walker Patterson; brothers Russell and Dallas (Kristie) Hoffman; sisters Sharon (Calvin) Schwarz and Deanna (Charles) Johannes, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Gail was proceeded in death by her parents, her youngest brother Steven Hoffman and sister-in-law Pauline Hoffman.
