Joan Waggoner

Joan Elaine Waggoner, 86, formerly of Rock Island, passed away Saturday, November 28, 2020, at Iowa Masonic Health, Bettendorf, IA. Visitation is Thursday, December 3rd, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services at 12:30 p.m. at DeRoo Funeral Home, Moline. All are required to follow state guidelines for attendance at the funeral home and cemetery. Burial will be at Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family to be donated.

Joan was born August 8, 1934, in York, PA, the daughter of Clifford and Lomie (Frysinger) Wilt. She married Donald E. Waggoner on June 4, 1953 in Towson, MD. He preceded her in death on December 12, 2001.

Joan was employed at Woolworths until its closing, meanwhile making a home in Rock Island for 43 years. She loved doing yardwork, knitting, making hook rugs, crocheting, crafts, writing and especially spending time with her family.

Joan is survived by her daughter, Kimberly K. DuFloth; grandchildren, Stephanie Moon (Ron), New Port Richey, FL, Daphne Emmert (Adam), Colona, IL, Nicholas DuFloth, Chicago, Ashley Jones (Julian), FL, Nolan DuFloth, Davenport, IA, Bryan Waggoner, Chicago, Ashley DuFloth, Okiboji, IA; great-grandchildren, Max, Michael, John, Cobra, Sydney, Jordan, Calvin, Jaxon, Franklin, Dylan, Dawsan, Joel, Landon, Kai and Ashton and brother, Rickey Wilt.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald E. Waggoner, daughter, Donalene E. Waggoner, son, Clifford C. Waggoner, and granddaughter, Monica D. Clymer.
