Julie Simpkins

Julie Simpkins, 62, of Moline, IL, passed away Monday, December 9, 2019, at UnityPoint Health – Trinity Rock Island.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 12, 2019 at 4 p.m. with visitation immediately following (from 5-7 p.m) at DeRoo Funeral Home, Moline. Memorials may be given to the family.

Julie was born on July 10, 1957 in Davenport, IA, the daughter of William and Linda (Eaves) Anderson.  She was previously married to Donald B. Powell.

Her hobbies included reading and visiting the library, studying science and practicing her faith. Julie enjoyed spending time with her family, playing with her grandchildren and helping those in need.

Survivors include her mother and children; Ryan, Don, and Alan Powell and Jenna Krebs, sisters; Laurie Wojcinski and Pam Galanius and grandchildren; Austin Engstrom, Andrew, Ashton, Eva, and Dylan Powell and Ella Krebs. She was preceded in death by her father, William Anderson and grandparents Ella Bahr, Arnold Anderson, Edward Eaves and Nola Henderson.
