Marie Raskie

Arlene “Marie” Raskie, 91, of Moline, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, IA.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, July 22, 2019 at Sacred Heart Church, Moline. Entombment will follow at St. Mary’s Mausoleum, East Moline. A rosary will be recited at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 21, followed by visitation from 2:30-5:00 p.m. at DeRoo Funeral Home, Moline. Memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Church.

Marie was born on September 23, 1927 in Centerville, IA, the daughter of Fabian and Victoria (Blozevich) Thomas. She married Carl W. Raskie on November 3, 1951 in Centerville, IA. He preceded her in death on April 8, 2014.

Marie loved her family and was a devoted Nana to her grandchildren Thomas and Anne. She enjoyed watching the Cubs, playing cards and saying the Rosary… with the Rosary occasionally being said for the Cubs pitching. She was a life member of Sacred Heart Church and the Sacred Heart Altar and Rosary Society.

Marie is survived by her daughter, Becky (Les) Bohnert; two sons, Mark Raskie and Alan (Mary) Raskie; two grandchildren, Thomas and Anne Bohnert; and sister, Kathleen Kopatich. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carl; sister, Pauline Allardyce; and daughter-in-law, Kristin Raskie.
