Oswaldo J. Sanchez Saavedra, 76, passed away Monday, April 5, 2021, at UnityPoint Health – Trinity Rock Island.

A private mass will be held at St. Mary’s Church, Moline.

Oswaldo was born August 12, 1944, in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico.  He married Maria Olga Antu on December 25, 1967 and later married Rosa M. Gandra on April 15, 1995.

Oswaldo retired from Navistar International as a line-worker and welder in 2002. He began the 1st Spanish Language Radio Station in the Quad Cities on KALA Radio where he played DJ, was a member of the UAW, a music historian, worked as a drug and alcohol counselor. Oswaldo was a voracious reader and gained a “Press Pass”, allowing him to interview Barak Obama, Bill Clinton and George Bush. He will be missed by his loving family

Survivors include his children: Oswaldo J. Sanchez, Jr., Corina Guadalupe Sanchez Garza, Guadalupe J. Sanchez and Julissa E. Sanchez Ponce; step-children, Sonia Cortez, Richard Nũnez and Cesar Nũnez, 19 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

My dear friend Rosa, I am very very sorry for your loss.  O. Javier was a good man and a great friend.A lot of people will miss him, including me. I worked with Javier  for a number of years and he was a caring and helpful man. He was helpful to his community and loved his children a great deal. He will be missed by many. His family has my sympathy.

Estimada , Rosy lamento mucho la pérdida de un hombre Amoroso , No hay palabras para expresar el dolor que sentimos al perder a un ser querido. Pero tampoco habrá palabras para expresar la alegría que sentiremos cuando Jehova Dios lo devuelva a la . También , Nos consuela saber que pronto lo veremos de nuevo en el paraíso y que nunca más se enfrentará al último enemigo , la muerte. Mientras ese día llegue recordaremos sus obra de fe . 2 de Corintios 1;3,4  dice: Alabado sea el Dios y padre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo , el padre de tiernas misericordias y el Dios de todo consuelo . El nos consuela en todas nuestras pruebas para que nosotros podamos consolar con el consuelo que recibimos de Dios a los que están sufriendo cualquier clase de prueba .
