Peter Michael Soble, age 80, died peacefully in his home in Moline, Illinois, Saturday, March 26, 2022.

Peter was born on April 5, 1941 in Chicago, Illinois. He graduated from Lake View High School in 1959. He graduated from the University of IL Urban-Campaign where he earned a B.S. Degree in Political Science & Philosophy in 1961. He then graduated  from the University of Illinois with a Doctorate of Juris Prudence and  received his Illinois law license in 1964.  He attained law licenses in Iowa in 1985 and in Washington, DC in 1986.  In 2014 he closed his full time practice but continued part time until his death.

Peter was preceded in death by his parents, Milton and Marney, his sister, Jill, and stepmother, Rosella Soble.

He is survived by his son Marc Soble, of Chicago, IL. Peter was well loved and cared for by his girlfriend, Dr. Catherine (Kitty) Seng, of Moline, Illinois. Peter died surrounded by his loving friends and his two constant companions, his cat, Tiger, and dog, Baby.

Peter had many interests but especially loved animals, playing bridge and traveling. Peter was an avid history lover, especially of the Roman Empire and WW2 periods, insomuch as he named his son, Marc, after the great Roman emperor, Marcus Aurelius. Peter was extremely smart and was one of the most interesting people who will be truly missed. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Peter's honor to the Quad Cities Animal Welfare Center in Milan, IL.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. When arrangements have been finalized, an obituary will be published in the Dispatch/Argus.
