Ron Brobston

Ronald "Tithead" Brobston, of Moline, Illinois, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family and friends at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, IA, on July 2, 2022 after a battle with lung disease. True to character, Ron showed impeccable strength and courage beyond belief.

A service will be held for Ron at Wendt Funeral Home, 1811 15th Street Place, Moline, IL 61265 on Friday, July 8, 2022, from 3:00PM-5:30PM followed by a Celebration of Life at the Brobston Home, 3828 15th Street C., Moline, IL 61265. He enjoyed going to concerts, the Chicago Bears, fantasy football, working on his beloved Chevy Nova, camping, traveling, and spending time with his family and friends. Ron asked Google "what is the meaning of life?" Google replied, "two cool dudes named Bill and Ted said, 'Party on dudes'". Ron lived up to this motto and will be partying on for eternity. 

Ron is survived by his beautiful, supportive and courageous wife, Virginia Brobston, Moline, IL, who put up with her amazing and loving husband for 33 years, Daughter, Gretchen Calloway, Lexington, KY, and his sons Brad and Brian Stradt, Rock Island, IL, Jesse Brobston. He was an undeniably proud "pretty princess Poppa Ron" to six amazing grandchildren, Natalee, Heidi and Vayda Calloway, Lexington, KY, Tori Rubingh, Davenport, IA, and Raynessa Mariana, Davenport, IA, many nieces and nephews including Jesse Brobston and Johanna Brobston.

Ron was preceded in death by his mother and father, Jim and Florence Brobston, his stepmother, Marie Brobston and his two brothers, Doug and Chris Brobston.
