William "Donald" Wates Obituary

William D. “Donald” Wates, 86, of Moline, passed away Sunday, July 12, 2020 at UnityPoint Health – Trinity Rock Island.

Committal services will be held at 9 a.m. Friday, July 17, 2020 at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline.

Private visitation will be held for the family. Memorials may be given to The American Heart Association.

Don was born November 5, 1933 in Guin, Alabama, the son of Dell and Hazel Wates.

He was employed for over 30 years at the Rock Island Arsenal as a Machinist.

Don enjoyed fishing and watching Alabama Football, the St. Louis Cardinals and Green Bay Packers.

He is survived by his sister, Margaret; brothers, Gary Wates, Moline, David (Lee) Wates, Kewanee and Philip (Carolyn) Wates, Geneseo; many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
